I Port Sudan, där tiotusentals människor söker skydd på flykt undan konflikt, har farligt höga nivåer av undernäring uppmätts hos spädbarn. Hungriga människor fyller skolor och andra provisoriska bostäder och klamrar sig fast vid knappa ägodelar från sina gamla liv.
Som ett exempel, FN:s livsmedelsprogram (WFP), världens största internationella livsmedelsorganisation, har sett kostnadsökningar med över 140 procent under en sju-årsperiod, från SEK 18,2 miljarder 2009 till SEK 44 miljarder under 2015.
World Food Programme (WFP) har börjat leverera mat riktad till hundratusentals hungriga människor i Sudan, med hopp om att kunna expandera till fler områden trots enorma säkerhetsutmaningar, inklusive intensiva strider som rasar i delar av landet.

Word Food Programme (WFP) arbetar för att minimera följdeffekterna för hungern runt om i världen av de stigande livsmedels- och energipriserna som utlösts av Ukrainakonflikten, samtidigt som man utökar insatserna i landet för att nå ut till 3,1 miljoner människor . Byn ligger i Kenyas kuststad Mombasa, där World Food Programme (WFP) förser familjer som har förlorat sin inkomst på grund av COVID-19 med nödhjälp i form av kontantöverföringar.
"Vi har gått igenom en tuff tid. Vi har ingenting i huset: inga möbler, ingen mat och inga pengar. Ibland stannar jag sent för att arbeta och när jag kommer hem försöker jag att inte väcka barnen. Om jag skulle väcka dem hade de sagt att de ville ha middag." Walid har tidigare arbetat som tjänsteman i Jemen, han har förlorat nästan allt i konflikten som pågått i landet sedan 2015.
