Den globala humanitära finansieringskrisen har tvingat WFP att avsluta programmet för direkt livsmedelsbistånd i Syrien, som har hjälpt syriska familjer i hela landet i över ett decennium.
WFP har nått en halv miljon människor med akut behov av livsmedelsassistans, med planer på att utöka insatsen för att nå 900 000 – om finansiering tillkommer – efter de dödliga jordbävningarna som inträffade längs gränsen mellan Turkiet och Syrien den 6 februari.

Mer än en tredjedel av Syriens befolkning lever som internflyktingar i ett desperat försök att nå säkerhet. En följd till denna kontinuerliga flykt är alarmerande höga nivåer av hunger och människor i behov av hjälp.
Demokratiska republiken Kongo är, tillsammans med Afghanistan, Jemen och Syrien, hem åt en av de största nödsituationer WFP arbetar i - efter decennier av konflikter och klimatförändringar som fortsätter att minska människors tillgång till de mest grundläggande livsmedlen och öka hungern till aldrig tidigare skådade nivåer.
WFP brottas med en global finansieringskris och växande humani
Barn som gråter av hunger och dör av undernäring. Människor som riskerar att bli beskjutna för att nå fram till hjälpkonvojer och som tvingas leva på djurfoder och soppa gjord på löv och gräs.
