Av: Edward Johnsson / WFP Afrika.Att utrota hunger och felnäring är en av de viktigaste och mest komplexa utmaningarna i vår tid. Vägen till en framtid utan hunger kräver flera tillvägagångssätt. Utöver att distribuera livsmedels- och kontantstöd där det finns behov så investerar WFP också i resiliens- och försörjningsaktiviteter som gör det möjligt för människor att hjälpa sig själva.
Sambandet mellan världens intensifierade konflikter och den ökade hungern blir allt tydligare. Sedan militärkuppen 2012 har Mali skakats av konflikt, terrorism och oroligheter.Är det möjligt att bygga hållbar fred utan att säkra tillgången till mat?
Från Afghanistan till Zimbabwe orsakar extremt väder kopplat till klimatförändringarna elände och hunger för miljontals människor – 811 miljoner svälter för närvarande runt om i världen, en siffra som kommer att öka exponentiellt om de 196 länder som skrev under Parisavtalet 2015 inte lever upp till sina förpliktelser.

När du kommer till den ukrainska gränsen märks det att du går in i en konfliktzon. Du möts av enorma barrikader, som unga soldater som förstärker med sandsäckar.
Känslan av att det här är ett osäkert territorium sitter i länge. För varje bil jag såg när jag körde in i Ukraina såg jag förmodligen tre massiva traktorer som transporterade jordbruksutrustning.
Med nya mottagna medel sedan början av det här året, är nu WFP i stånd att kunna återgå till full matransonering till alla flyktingar mellan april och juli.
