Barn som gråter av hunger och dör av undernäring. Människor som riskerar att bli beskjutna för att nå fram till hjälpkonvojer och som tvingas leva på djurfoder och soppa gjord på löv och gräs.

Det är en varm oktober-eftermiddag i Ouallam-distriktet i de västra delarna av regionen Tillabery i Niger. Luften står stilla samtidigt som solens strålar träffar den hårda, röda jorden.

Som ett exempel, FN:s livsmedelsprogram (WFP), världens största internationella livsmedelsorganisation, har sett kostnadsökningar med över 140 procent under en sju-årsperiod, från SEK 18,2 miljarder 2009 till SEK 44 miljarder under 2015.
Varför sökte du dig just hit?
Rakel: Jag var nyfiken på kommunikations- och påverkansarbete och ville kombinera det med min bakgrund inom internationell utveckling och hållbara livsmedelssystem. Det var dessutom lite av en dröm att få jobba i FN-staden i Köpenhamn. Här arbetar 1 600 personer från 108 olika länder på 11 olika FN-organ.
På slätterna i Adadle-distriktet i Etiopiens Somali-region brukade gräset växa sig så högt att lejon kunde gömma sig i det, säger folk. Så är det inte längre.
Under de senaste fyra månaderna har samhällen lämnats öde då mer än 80 hushåll lämnat sina hem på jakt efter vatten.
Det är också vad Hana har gjort och det är inte hennes första migration av det slaget.
